I.ve always thought it should be something like that , every other sports that are weight based such as horse racing, motor sports etc they have to weigh everything straight after the event as well.

There just one little problem with that, people dieing after boxing matches, if we had weight in 2 hours before the fight. there would be a massive increases in boxing deaths. blood cots would be alot more common. A very bad idea. a 24 hour weight lets and fighters put fluid back into there system and lesses the chances of blood cots

The sports commission had a serious look at this in Nevada and switched from same day to 24 hours prior.


Its a catch 22 situation though but IMO 24 and same day would be ideal but probably not practical.
