Looking sharp on your feet, throwing the odd jab and landing infrequent hooks are never going to be enough for a challenger to wrestle a world title from a champion on his home patch. And sadly BJ Flores (24-1) did little more than this in his attempt at winning the IBO Cruiserweight title from Danny Green (31-3) in Perth, Australia earlier today.
Despite this writer having Green winning by three rounds, two of the three judges had it a bit more pro-Australian with a 118-111 score with the other having it 117-112.
At times it was a lacklustre affair. The power of Green versus the boxing skills of Flores were to be put on display for the paying fans watching in attendance. Instead what we were treated to was Green happy to counter from the ropes whilst Flores looked to come forward with his jab and movement in an attempt to frustrate his 37-year old opponent

My score was 116 - 112 for Green. It wasn't a blowout, but it was a comfortable win. On another topic how crap are the commentators.

2. About 5 or 6 rounds in, they are saying Green is clearly in front when Flores easily had the three of first four and possibly 5th round (or maybe it was the 6th - Can't remember which one to be exact)? What the hell

When he fight RJ everybody say he was lucky and when he smash up Briggs in a couple of seconds they say fight was cooked. Bud **** everyone Danny you fight a guy 25 - 24 w 1 d and now you guys want to say he had no fight for 12 months. The same when Mundine or Leapai or Meehan fight they alway cover for them. Danny you done some sparring against Pieter and he said to me after the sparing Dad he is a tough man and we all know he will never give up. I'm from South Africa and work and live in OZ and there fore i will support all OZ sport and we can't allow the negative actions against the OZ sportsman. They all put it in and if we cant support them it will be better too try and keep quiet and let them fight them their own battle. Let support them and **** the rest of the world. If they want too say they are better than our sportsmen and sportswomen down under let them come and proof it here down under. They always use the excuse that we are so remote but i don't think they got the Balls to come and proof them self here in the remote country. But let them know that if they want to be the champ tehy must come and beat us here down under.
