Default BBC to reshow Calzaghe v Kessler

According to BBC Sports website, Joe Calzaghe's recent fight against Mikkel Kessler will be shown again on BBC One at 1310 GMT on Saturday.

The BBC said they were responding to public demand.

Interesting development - could be the start of boxing back on free to air TV on the BBC!

Wonder if the BBC's decision to show this has anything to do with the odds on Calzaghe winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award being slashed from 16/1 to 8/1 after he beat Kessler.

Lewis Hamilton remains favourite to win and Ricky Hatton second favourite.

It depends what your definition of a loser is.

Also, this is a 'personality' award which suggests it is more about popularity.

Welcome to the brit forum Fraziers hook!

I'm afraid you are mistaken about the fight not being shown on BBC1.

There are articles on both the BBC Sports website ('BBC to reshow Calzaghe Title Bout') and FWTV ('Beeb to show Calz-Kess') confirming this today.

I can guarantee that the BBC will not show the whole fight. We will get 10 minutes of highlights then back to "Are You Being Served"

Why should Lewis Hamilton win BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award ?

He have not won anything this year?

According to FWTV it will be "replayed as-live".

Lol.

'Persoanlity' doesn't refer to the character of the candidates; think personality, = person.

Whether or not he should win the award he is the clear favourite with the bookies.

Runners up often do well - look no further than Amir Khan winning silver at the Olympics!

Yippee! I am going to get myself hypnotized to forget the result and re-live the excitement.

That is why if you fancy Hatton to beat Mayweather, do not bet on the fight, bet on Hatton to win Sports Personality of the Year. The fight happens Sunday morning and the award is given out in the evening on the back of a phone vote, Hatton would be certain to win it.

Hamilton will win SPoY; no way the BBC will give it to a fighter....... not since they don't even have a contract with them.

Hamilton gets it....... And it's a shame.

Remember Joe's comments a while ago about the Sport Personallity award only ever given to loosers - not winners...... Reckon they will still be smarting off that one!
