I think Calzaghe would be an awful match up for Froch, probably resulting in a comfortable points win for Calzaghe.
I don't think Calzaghe ducked Froch at all. At 36yrs old, is Calzaghe really going to knock back big money fights with Jones Jnr, to fight a relatively unknown British fighter who is high risk, low reward. Calzaghe retired just as Froch was becoming a name. |

He didn't duck Carl, Zag was just at a different stage in his career and had more lucrative options open to him. Calzaghe of that time would have been too good for Froch who has shown significant improvement since he first won the WBC. If
Froch can always stick to a gameplan like he did against AA he will be a very tough fighter to beat. |

I dont think he ducked Froch.Joe had been ready to retire for a while and the fight was not going to be a massive money maker anyway. At the time Froch had not really proved himself either.
I think Joe would have won by UD,his style would not suit Froch. It would be a lot like Joe v Kessler.Id rather watch Froch or Kessler than Calzaghe but Joe had the style to beat both. |
