Good fight but nowhere near FOTY. Kats knocked JMM down in the 3rd and was very competitive throughout the fight but it was too one-sided to be FOTY.

As an Aussie i've never been so proud of a fighter as i was for Katsidis tonight.... reminded me of Troy Waters knocking down Terry Norris back in 1993 when Norris was P4P no 2 or 3 in the world.
When Larry Merchant talked about his brother in the after fight interview, i had to leave my mates room and pretended i was taking a piss because of my tears. Mundine and Danny Green hold your heads in shame. |

I'm not sure who else is there for Katsidis to beat. He could probably beat someone like Soto. |

Katsidis wasn't far off. Fought well, he had his big chance in Rd 3. I had the feeling leading up to this fight he'd have a big moment that he'd have to take but he didn't quite manage it. He followed up well and recognized the moment but he didn't land a great shot, Marquez used his experience well.
Katsidis has had 'what might have been' moments in both his big US fights. |
