Default 28 years to the day: Limon-chacon 4

It is the best fight I have ever seen still. It was better than any fight I've seen since. Yet, it is really underappreciated due to the 2 fighters not being the super hyped superstars. It had it all and I'll enjoy it tonight, as much as I did on ABC 28 years ago.

My second favorite fight of all time behind Corrales-Castillo 1.

I have this fight on tape as well. It was like a holywood movie, who the hell ever knocks down the champion while behind on points with only 15 seconds left in the fight. Bit, it happened. Then, he fights Boza several months later in another unbelievable scenario. He gets cut up. more bleeding then you'll ever see, and somehow talks the ref out of stopping the fight, and floore Boza in the last round to eke out the decision. Two holywood type scenarios back to back. Chacon really gave us alot of great memories. But of course, he paid physically and mentally. but what memories.

Yeah after two unbelievable wars in close succession, the Mancini fight was a bridge too far for Chacon who already had a lot of wear and tear.

My favourite fight ever by a wide margin, I doubt I shall ever see another one as good in my lifetime. Most folks don`t realize he dedicated that fight to his late wife Valerie whos suicide he felt responsible for and he was riddled with guilt by it afterwards. It is incredible what certain fighters can do when they dedicate a fight to a deceased loved one, the amount of punishment they can withstand and the ferocity they display is a sight to behold. Bobby did it against Limon and Boza, Buster did it aginst Tyson when he dedicated the fight to his late mother, other fighters have done so as well, I always marvel at such displays of sheer courage and indomitable will to win at all costs.

How were the first three fights? The fourth always stands out but how were the other three?

It was a helluva fight, but it cost Chacon down the road.

They were all good fights. Chacon and Limon legitimately did not like one another and they were both take-no-prisoners types in their approach any how.

Bobby chacon is now paying with his health for all the thrilling moments he gave the boxing fans of this world.

He now suffers with pugilistic dementia. He needs 24 hour care; that he receives from his caregiver, Rosie, who in the last few years has become his girlfriend. But even or because of it all; Bobby is a happy man.

Remarkably, they embraced immediately after the bell rang. It was as if they'd finally gotten all that antagonism out of their systems with that war's conclusion. (Limon gained tremendous respect from climbing off the deck that late after a contest that torrid.)

That era of super feathers was just...words cannot describe it. It's like The Quarrymen just happening to meet each other at the right time, grabbed a charismatic drummer (Navarette is the Ringo of the group) and become The Beatles.
