Have you ever worked out at all? Do the same kind of a warm up that you do before training.

20-30 minutes. 5 minutes of raising core temperature. Do some dynamic stretching for 5 or so minutes, then 10 or so minutes of sport specific warmups. One of our best fighters who is in phenomenal shape takes forever to break a sweat.

This. Just to be loose and relaxed. Bounce around a bit, stretch, some shadow boxing or some light pads. It's mostly mental before a fight anyway, so you want to be focused.

Just recently we were warming up our guy for his fight and we had him warm and loose and ready to go, then just as we were supposed to head to the ring, they announced a 15 minute intermission.... what the ****.

I like to get atleast 30 minutes. I always start moving and doing light exercises when there's four fights left. I did that last time. The first fight went the distance, the next one was a stoppage in the first round, and the next two were walkovers. You always have to be prepared. That was in Latvia. They never say shit to you.

But normally it's fine if you do the same as the warm up you do for training. Plus pads.

Remember, for sports, the shorter time you have to work, the longer you have to warm up. And amateur boxing is only 3x3 minutes. On top of that you have to be ready and explosive from the first second.

So, atleast 30 minutes for me is ideal.

Most events I've been involved in haven't run on time.

Once I had just got out the skipping rope and was told I was up. My coach asked for 10 minutes they said no. My coach asked me if I was OK to go out and I said yeah. He had me hitting and slipping his hands in the corner of the ring while the other fighter came out lol.
