I've been watching Liston-Williams youtubes

Sonny seemed to have a good basic strategy vs Cleveland Williams

1) jab the hands up, opening the body
2) hit the body to bring the hands down
3) use the whole target

When Sonny starts landing on the body I feel each fight taking a definite turn.

Sonny Liston:

a) better chin
b) better fluid punching
c) better mental fortitude

I like the way he mixes up back and front foot, and I like the way Liston got onto the frontfoot faster in the second fight. There's a school of thought that sees Liston as a slow-thinking fighter; that's a bad read in my opinion, he showed good adjustments against Machen, Williams and Clarke, and those are just the ones I can see.
