Hamed was an excellent fighter. Light years better than McGuigan, absolute different class to him. He beat a whos who of featherweights for his time. Some were on the way down, some were not. But name a fighter who did not fight guys on the way down ? Barrera fought Hamed, when Hamed was in obvious decline. No he was not our best ever, but he was damn good.

Could have won titles at Bantam and Super Bantam but went straight to 126 for a domestic dust up with Robinson.

Nice bloke whenever i have met him, over the last 20 years
