News keeping the Storm afloat is purely a business decision. No charity is involved. The few million that News pumps into the storm each year is more than made up via the extra cable subscriptions. Storm games are consistently the highest rating time slots on cable. Its 15 years since the Storm got established in Melbourne and we get to see Storm games at 12.30am in the morning. It is to drive up cable subs. Knee Jerk Gallop does not want to enforce the NRL tv contract with News because he is a former News lawyer and News appointed him in the first place. Talk about conflict of interest.

I wonder if the IC will eventually change the regular fixture advantages some clubs get.

I read the other day that Brisbane play their first 7 games this season on a Friday night. It's a decent advantage not having to change training schedules, and preparing for games the same time each week. Melbourne get a similar deal with their Saturday games. The only reason this weekends game is on a Sunday is because Melbourne Heart play at AAMI stadium on Saturday.

If the IC are the real deal, they'll at least acknowledge that theres some inconsistencies with the fixture scheduling, and how it's not evenly spread out. Of course it's all done for a reason, and that is to fit into tv time slots, but it'd be nice to see the game make changes for the good of it, and not just for the sake of getting more coin from viewers.

not sure about Tigers against Manly... i could handle a loss because of them being last years premiers as long as we dont lose anymore players to injury... we have the worst luck with injuries of any club in the comp i reckon

I think its a toss up match although i do think Manlys depth is more than enough to cover the loss of the 3 players injured.
