Daughter of league great Peter Tunks guilty of making false rape claims in Thailand

THE woman sentenced to 15 days in a Thai prison for lying about being raped is the daughter of Australian rugby league great Peter Tunks.

Stevie Rochelle Bamford, 20, from Sydney, was found guilty of making false rape claims against a local taxi driver in Phuket Provincial Court earlier this month and is due to be admitted to Bang Jo detention centre.
Speaking for the first time about the ordeal, Tunks who played for the Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Panthers said the entire family was extremely concerned about his daughter's welfare and wanted her home as soon as possible.
"It's obviously been a worrying time but we're hopeful to have her back home safely as soon as possible,'' the 53-year-old former Kangaroo prop told The Sunday Mail.
Tunks said he had been in daily contact with his daughter's lawyer as well as the Australian consulate.

Bamford, from Maroubra, told Thai police on June 10 she had been raped by a local taxi driver while coming home after being separated from her boyfriend after a night out while holidaying in Phuket.She alleged he drove to a secluded area and assaulted her while other men held her down before stealing her passport and cash.
Phuket Provincial Court was told Bamford admitted she lied as she didn't want her boyfriend to be mad at her for getting home late.

He lost the dressingroom last season, and hasnt made amends since.
He seems to over use inspirational speeches during pre game, half time pep talks. It'll work with you for a bit, but afterwards it just starts to wane on the whole team, and then starts to have a reverse effect.

Its a shame that we didnt get a penalty for the offside kick just when were getting some momentum. We wouldnt have won most likely but it def took away any steam we were building.

anyway, Just need to get up brush ourselves off and and come back after the bye swinging.
