I'd probably go with Michalszewski but either is a good choice. Many Poles would probably say Prime Gołota (with his head on straight) would be the best of them all, or I guess that he had the most potential.

Spider Pladner was an excellent French fighter. Beat a lot of top fighters in the early 30s like Frankie Genaro, Wee Willie Davies, Corporal Izzy Schwartz and Newsboy Brown among others. He just couldn't take the naturally larger Panama Al Brown:

Cracking fights with Hennerby.
Best wins Lesnevich and Alabama Kid.
2 losses to Archie Moore - 1 TKO 10 and one UD 12.

I guess with all of his achievements at domestic level Tyszu could probably be put ahead of him. Just when i think of Australian boxing i think of Richards .
You can add that he was 3x M/W and 3x H/W Champ of Oz. Also that he was the first man to take Old Archie the 12 round journey.

He's a legend here. The Great Ron Richards. One drama, he never managed to get the better of Ambrose Palmer or Jack Carroll, so Richards obviously liked 'em to be coming forward and engaging.

He could pretty much flatten anyone who walked up to him.

Still, do you not think Rose or Fenech is better? Even Famechon?
