If you want info on any shows from the Tyne Tees and Wear region I can tell you them.
That sounds like a great site and will defo be useful.

I'm based in the north west so thanks anyway. The ABAE North West site doesn't seem to have updated for 12 months or so but will keep checking Facebook pages.

Cheers

We've been asked to do a north west amateur magazine next which would be the next logical move for us anyway. Were in talks now to sort it out but we'll probably need some investors to come on board so we can hire more staff as the north east magazine is hard enough with only two of us.

Hopefully we can build it up by the end of this season as I'd love to get a national mag out in time for the olympics.

That'd be brilliant. I'm hoping to get into going to a few local amateur shows and I want to build up my knowledge before the olympics so those ideas sound superb.

a good start would be to sign up to the warrior boxing websites forum, you'll be able to browse the threads and you'll sharp work out who the top boxers are and what they have achieved etc as well as the young upcoming lads.

heres the GB team site
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The AIBA site
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

and the ABAE website
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

they will keep you updated on championships and internationals, they can be a little slow to update sometimes as well as miss some out but its the best you'll get at amateur unless you know all the people involved and can get updated through them.

I thought it might be a good idea to post some stats about the boxers from your area to watch out for (can do other areas as well if you want). i'll start:

Name: Henry Thomas
Age: 18
Weight: 60kg/lightweight
Record:W60 L6
Category: Senior (1st season)
Achievements: Youth commonwealth games gold medalist, Junior ABA champion, 2x Boys club champion, American Golden Gloves champion (only Brit to win it), 2x schoolboy, 1x golden belt (minors championship), England international.
Other: Expect him to turn pro soon, there was rumor's he was going to turn over this summer but he is going to box in the senior abas this season. If he does well I expect to see him in the pro ranks late 2012/early 2013.
