1_FOREMAN/SHAVERS( the heaviest hands ever)
2_ SONNY LISTON(heavy hands with decent hand speed) 3_A PEAK TYSON( TYSON WITHOUT GREAT SPEED HAD NO HITTING POWER REALLY, HE did not have HEAVY HANDS, he was a guy with great musculature and great speed, it was =hitting power) 4_THE RIGHT HAND OF MAX BAER. 5_THE RIGHT HAND OF MARCIANO( heavy bones for his size) 6_THE LEFT HOOK OF FRAZIER/DAVID TUA/GERRY COONEY 7_JOE LOUIS(LOUIS GOT GREAT COMBINATIONS,BUT HE DID NOT HAVE THE HARDEST POWER WITH A SINGLE SHOT OR HEAVY HANDS) 8_JACK DEMPSEY 9_WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO 10-20 I WOULD PUT GUYS LIKE RON LYLE,LENNOX LEWIS,VITALI,MORRISON,BOWE,RUDDOCK ,FRANK BRUNO...(bruno had power but his KOs were horrible and always against pure garbage). |

I'd agree that most of Bruno's KO's were a bit clumsy looking, but not always. He had a good left hook.
In terms of sheer power, though, Bruno could bend a man completely in half! I'd still rate him higher than the likes of Lyle or Ruddock. Bruno's right up there with the Cooney's and Tua's! |

Have to disagree on the Louis part concerning his single shot power. That guy actually spun big huge guys around like spinning tops, with one punch. I personally think people get mixed up sometimes between strength and power. Bruno was a very strong man but i think his punching power gets really over-estimated on this forum. I cant think of 1 'live' opponent he ever knocked out, which is frankly amazing considering the amount of guys who rate his punch power. Just my two cents. |

I think Lennox Lewis and Wladmir Klitschko have to be near the top as far as single shot power goes. Im not a particular fan of either, but both hit very hard with their righthand. Emanuel Steward says Wlad hits harder than Lewis, but I dont know.

Louis attacked Schmelling in thier rematch, such hard body shots, ringsiders actually heard Max crying out in pain. Joe did throw good combinations, but a hard left hook usually hurt an opponent, then Louis was a great finisher. He made short work of much bigger men with his power. ( Max & Buddy Baer) Primo Carnera. Jimmy Braddock stood up to Baer's hard punches, but Louis pounded him into submission in taking the Heavyweight crown. |
