Default Peter Mueller-Hans Stretz

Anyone ever see Peter Mueller Vs. Hans Stretz from 1952??? Wow what a bizarre fight. Mueller is tearing into Stretz in 8th round. Stretz grabs onto Mueller and holds tight. The ref comes over and seperates them at which point the film jumps the split second Mueller has literally laid out the referee. Im talking out cold on his back. Mueller then goes after Stretz again at which point the ring begins fill with cornermen. As Stretz' cornermen try to rescue him Mueller goes absolutely berserk and turns and chases after his own cornermen, literally chasing them out of the ring, threatening to hit them. One of the cornermen is too slow and Mueller literally grabs him around the legs and throws him out of the ring, then turns and tries to rush Stretz and his cornermen again. Finally he gives up the fight, steps out of the ring onto the ring apron and raises his arms in victory. Then he leaves the arena. Wow...

Yep. Müller ans Stretz had another fight earlier with the same ref in the ring. The ref was holding Müller all the time, punishing for allowed things and stuff. Müller just had enough. Müller lost his boxing license for life due to that. But a few month later it came out that the ref was the father-in-law of Stretz ...

Yes, I saw the fight several years ago on TV. Müller tried to get into the infight. But when he got near his opponent he was stopped by the referee. Then Müller became angry..... After losing his boxing license he worked for a short time with professional wrestlers. In Germany Peter Müller was a very popular fighter. He got his boxing license back after a year.
I did not know till now that the referee was the father-in-law of Hans Stretz. Thanks for the information, bodhi.

Could it be that you're the only person who's ever seen that copy you have ...... and only you know it exists?

Not likely. Where my copy differs is actually the shots of the crowd. The timecoded copy on Youtube has shots of the crowd making shocked or "oohing and ahhing" faces inserted where mine doesnt. It also has a dramatized shot of the referees feet which mine doesnt have. Mine has all of the action seen in the Youtube clip and one of the crowd shots. The most interesting part, and the part that is missing from both clips is the actual punch that laid out the referee.

You have a bit of an axe to grind with Klompy, don't you?

In my opinion it was cut or omitted from the footage on purpose, maybe they felt it was too controversial to show for some reason.

They used to do that a lot with fights for some reason. I think in some places actually showing a knockout punch must have been considered too violent or something.

Indeed, it is annoying to say the least.

Perhaps, or maybe it was against the law for some reason, guess we`ll never really know.
