Default legendary champions 1882-1929

i'm a big fan of the singer harry chapin...a wonderful singer / songwriter..a poet.

he was a huge boxing fan and wrote and directed a documentary which was very well recieved...even getting nominated for an academy award.
it concentrated on heavyweight champions between 1882 - 1929.

has anyone here seen it?...any thoughts on it ?

here's the first part of it on youtube...with links to the rest at the end...

Yes, I have seen it. It is a great doc. You will see some rare footage. The narrator does a good job with what he has to work with.

Remarkable that Chapin, prior to his singing career had this film accomplishment under his belt.
Talented guy.

I think Kings of the Ring is a bet better imo.

To bad it doesnt cover Sullivan to Willard, but it covers Dempsey to Tyson.
