They're very popular in Armenia,,,,,,,,,,,,,
And though Muhammad Ali is/was world recognized, as a marketing tool for an ad campaign or product spokesperson,,,,,,,,,he was 'poison'. Popularity with the non-buying public, equals nothing in the business 'real' world. |

Not quite as much as it used to be. A lot of the younger generation are getting more into soccer, and Wayne Rooney is not as uncommon a name anymore. Plus Wayne Rooney might have been a bad example because American soccer fans especially like him because he is badass |

Such as when my uncle flew over for the tyson holmes fight everybody there was wanting holmes to win..... apart from my uncle and his friend of course. Yeah as a marketing tool and to males he probably is the most recognised sporting person ever. I love american sports but i wouldnt recognise babe ruth as ive never gotten into baseball and hopefully in the future i might look into it. But majority of people i know in the uk hate american sports. |

In the 1920's and 1930's there was a great competition for public attention
between Ruth and Dempsey. There popularity at that time, in America was never equalled, at any time in history in the United States. Were talking about a 95% positive rating. |
