That wasnt prime Jones. You should have specified the MW vs Hopkins version.

Jones didn't peak until he reached 168 IMO. He was great at 160, but compared to a prime Hagler he was untested, unseasoned and inexperienced.

Jones was obviously much faster, but it would take so much more than speed to defeat a prime Hagler at his best weight. I see MMH using his jab to cut the ring off, and bully Jones utilizing his better technique.

As soon as Jones felt Hagler's power, he'd be on his bike, which would win him a few rounds, but it would be clear who the boss was in this fight.

Hagler UD.

Was Jones prime as a middleweight? Not really, so were talking a middleweight Hagler vs a super middle or LH Jones, who would be way too big and fast for Hagler.

I don't think it matters too much if its a 93 or 94 Jones, Jones movement, speed, timing, defense and use of angles and range are all far too much for Hagler to deal with

Jones was in his prime by the end of his Middleweight days, i.e. by the time he took on Thomas Tate. His very next fight was up in weight against James Toney and it's still to this day his most convincing performance. Do you really think he was that far removed from that form just a few months earlier?

Not really, but he was miles behind prime Hagler in terms of experience and nous.

Hagler would stop him around 7 or 8 rounds, as long as Marvin comes motivated and comes to stop Roy. Roy never fought a guy like Marvin at middleweight.
