Woody Allen with Diane Keaton

Kirk Douglas taking photo's too.

How about Burt Lancaster vs. Kirk Douglas on the undercard.

Everybody knew Joe won going away.

the only suitable statue would be one of this scene (the most dramatic and poetic moment of the fight) :

or this one, a split-second later :

Sadly, most people probably don't know (or want to know) that even happened.

Also, let's not forget, even Philadelphia prefered statues of Stallone to Frazier.

Having said all that, we have to accept that boxing is now passe in America.

Burt Lancaster and Archie Moore were a duo, part of the closed-circuit commentary and interview team, if I remember rightly.

If there was a statue,,,,,,,it would have to be of the most memorable moment.

MR. UN provided us with that moment on post #17.

Anthing less, would be 'B-level'.

Thankfully, Joe did not land that punch in 1969, or Arthur Mercante would still be counting.

alex,,,,,,,,,after the knock-down, there is a photo of Diane Keaton screaming 'YES"

I guess she was cheering for 'Joe' too..............not all the celebs went with Mr. Ali.
