I think Sean would have too much on the ball for Joey. Although he wasn't a major player in the big picture, maybe because of his screwy father, O'Grady once showed some promise and was sufficiently impressive enough for Sugar Ray Robinson to say of him "He fights like he's Black"...a writer also said of him in one of his fights, when he fought calmly through being cut badly and going on to stop his opponent that "he fought like a small Carlos monzon"...O'Grady would have stopped Joey in 7 or 8, IMO.

I think Sean decisions Joey over ten or twelve, Sean didn't show a whole lot at 140, but he had more than enough to take Joey.

O'Grady was considerably better than Gamache.

O'Grady by TKO in 8 or 9.

Gamache isn't quite upper-class enough, so Sean doesn't get cut.

I'd be confidently in favour of O'Grady. He didn't have much, but there was something there and I can't see a way for Gamache to beat him.

(O'Grady also did painfully awful commentary on Knockout Kings 2000, in which it was possible to have Sean comment while he was fighting.)

I came from Maine and saw many live Gamache fights...he was speedy and clever. Just comparing records, however, O'Grady had some big wins, whereas Joey, in all honesty, won his two belts in WBA eliminator fashion against long-forgotten opponents, and lost every time he stepped up to fight an established contender. O'Grady would probably stop him late.

Sorry Joey....but you'll always be THE MAN in Maine.

yeah whose great idea was that? "i know! let's get a mediocre 70s/80s fighter with zero charisma to provide commentary for our boxing shows!"

They should have got Scott LeDoux to do it. He's hardly a celebrity either, but he was well-spoken and intelligent. I always preferred him to Teddy Atlas when he substituted on ESPN Boxing.

O'Grady was better hed stop Gamache late... But Joey would be in this fight, he had very good speed and might take an early lead, but O'grady would stop him late.

No knock-out here in a 10-Rounder.

Joey Gamache alot slicker than many know.

And Sean, didn't thrill anybody when he won a close decion over Jose Cabrera,
a moderate Mexican Lightweight.

I'm leaning towards Gamache, in a close decision in 10-rounds.
A 15-Rounder, Sean by TKO 13.

Sean O['Grady versus Ralph Racine would have been a good match-up.

He's even worse calling live fights. He does the World Series of Boxing (amateur tournament) on Versus and...yeah...it's awkward. A lot of hemming and hawing breaks up statements of the obvious that even Lennox Lewis would **** an eyebrow at.

Good fighter, though. He'd drag Gamache into the trenches and leave his broken remains there for the vultures.
