Who is the most recent heavyweight champion that these fighters would have a good chance against.
Lineal champions only. Joh L Sullivan Bob Fitzsimmons Jim Jeffries Tommy Burns Jack Johnson Sam Langford Harry Greb Jack Dempsey Mickey Walker Joe Louis I expect some varied opinions! |

off the top of my head...
Joh L Sullivan = leon spinks because he came forward. KO Bob Fitzsimmons = moorer Jim Jeffries= leon spinks, just like what gerrie coetzee did. Tommy Burns=moorer Jack Johnson= mike tyson (bonecrusher held him but jack would hold him and do something) Sam Langford=old george foreman at least Harry Greb= leon on points Jack Dempsey= both klitchkos and a whole lot more Mickey Walker =0 Joe Louis= both klitchkos and a whole lot more |

If Fitzsimmons and Burns are given a good shot at beating Moorer, then surely Sullivan and Jeffries have a chance? If Mickey Walker held Jack Sharkey to a draw, then shouldn't he have a chance against some of the 30s champions and some weaker champions since? |

I considered this but felt beacuse walker beat sharkey in a non title fight this could have been a cold as oposed to hot sharkey, I know walker beat other good contenders at heavyweight but not by TKO or anything that could guarantee a win against a champion with it all on the line. his fight with schmeling was a bad match. Braddock is seen as weak by some but as an tired and rusty fighter he gave a peak louis holy hell in that losing effort. |

Mickey Walker is getting little love here!
Chocklab has given a verry good explaination of his choice, but I think that Walker could slip through the cracks somwhere. |

Greb and Johnson could out box the lesser more limited punchers at heavy such as Ingo, Spinks, Old Foreman, and Briggs. I also think Greb and Johnson could out point the following lineal champs post Louis: Walcott, Charles, Ingo, Spinks, Moorer, old Foreman, and Briggs. I think Walker, and Burns would only have a shot at the worst of lot such as Spinks. |
