The two rounds Kampman won were clearly his. Bad, bad decision.

Correct?
indeed

The only thing I can come up with on this fight is that if both fighters were still standing after round 3 the UFC was going to give this fight to Sanchez for ratings purposes. I was disgusted with the judging in this fight and in the Penn/Fitch fight. Evidently scoring one take down and landing a few wild haymakers with nothing on them from a overweight nightmare is enough to win a unanimous decision now! Stuffing 99% of someones takedown attempts and landing more punches than your opponent throws is definitely a good way to lose a fight. F the UFC officials for letting outcomes like this happen!

totally agree, and lets not forget diego's cheap tactic of putting his hands down to not take the knees

kampman coulda destroyed him with knees

judges need to get clued the **** up. they should be made to take a test and recognise a shit load of skills. they need to be tested on how they would score a scenario i.e. one guys rushes forward throwing 7 shots, nothing lands clearly but he gets caught with a sharp counter which busts him up. is it quantity over quality and heart over science or vica versa?

That happened in the 1st round, which I assume is the round all 3 judges gave him. The only significant moments of the second were the couple of flurries released by Diego when he had Kampmann pressed against the fence.

The 3rd was pretty much even for the first 4, or so, minutes. Kampmann finally started trying to make Diego pay for the takedown attempts, once with a grazing knee the other with a threatening knee that Diego was defending by keeping his hands on the ground. Bullshit rule, but you still have to give some kind of positional credit to Kampmann. Diego evened all that up with right hoot, a straight right hand, and a body shot early in the round. Diego did get Kampmann down, and get to side control; but Kampmann was right back up so it wasn't worth a lot. Then Diego released a couple flurries, that were not as effective as the flurries from the 2nd round, but were enough effort to give him the edge in an mostly uneventful round. I really wouldn't have cared if the judges called the last round even, and scored the fight a draw; but Kampmann didn't do shit to take that 3rd round.

Personally I don't think it mattered who won. Let's face it we were treated to a magnificent fight. I have a new-found respect for Sanchez. Unless you have placed a bet, who cares we don't know any of these fighters personally.

As usual in MMA the lucky punch roulette wheel was in full effect in some of the earlier fight. But hey it's exciting viewing. Overall an excellent fight card well done UFC.

1st round Kampmann. 2nd close or 10-10. 3rd I had Diego nicking it cause I knew the judges would score the round based on that. Honestly I had Kampmann but it was close.

That's what I'm doing. All three official judges got the names right.

Your remark would have been way cooler had the fight been scored a split decision, and one judge scored it for Kampmann.
