According to Russian press, Dennis Boytsov has signed with Golden Boy for a co-promotional contract and will be fighting frequently in US:

I heard Universum and Golden Boy reached a deal to co-promote Denis Boytsov and Rakhim Chakhiev. Boytsov will make his US debut on april 9th (in the undercard of Marquez vs Morales HBO PPV) or April 16th (in the undercard of Berto vs Ortiz). Chakhiev will make his US debut on march 5th (in the undercard of Alvarez vs Hatton). Opponents are to be announced.

Instead of just fighting in US, I would like to see Boytsov in the hands of a good American trainer, because that guy has potential but lacks skill.

Interesting. I wouldn't say he lacks skill based on his amateur background. Who would you want to work with him?

Good move, unless they shelve him as they do with some of their pickups. It all depends on their intentions.

Boytsov definitely lacks skill. Transitioning from promising amateur to world-class professional isn't quick or easy for most fighters. Even the best amateurs have to pick up professional polish before they're ready for the big time.

Yeah, I'd say right now he's still more raw talent than skilled professional operator.

Boytsov's not bad, but he has a lot of shortcomings. His handspeed isn't the best, and he's not the overwhelming puncher that fans originally thought he was. Boytsov's chin has not been tested, and his capacity to fight back under pressure has not been established. There's also the question of whether his defense is good enough to hang in there with the big boys.

I liked Boytsov's kayo over Bidenko. That impressed me. But I didn't like that Boytsov couldn't stop Maddalone. I also thought that Boytsov's kayo over Jason Gavern was suspect: it looked like the German officials stopped the fight too soon. Just my impression.

I'm not saying Boytsov is bad, but he needs a little more rounding out at the top before the world gets high on him.

Well, whatever works for him. I see him as a Chagayev level fighter, if handled carefully he might acquire a belt in the post-Klitschko era but it's unlikely that he will make a lasting impression in the division. After all he has stagnated for years, maybe a change of scenery can revive his career.

He's been struggling with hand injuries- you haven't seen the best of his punching yet.

He is extremely heavy handed. If his hands heal up he will kill someone!

I love to watch him fight. Hope he gets over his injury soon, looks like the last surgery was a success!!!
