For once, a title that cannot be attributed to Tyson, Ali or Louis.
Who holds this honour? Let's include Tunney, because while he only spent a few years in the heavyweight division this is a thread about durability in general rather than just durability at the heavyweight level. Curiously, Lewis was only knocked down twice, just like Rocky Marciano (I think; I'm not an expert on Marciano's early career because I don't like to watch his style in those fights). |

As Champ or thruout entire career? Bowe was not knocked down in any of his "Lineal" World title Fights. Bowe is also one of only 3 Linear HW Champs who were never stopped... Tunney and Marciano or the others.

I cant remember off hand, but I am fairly certain that he would have been thrown or taken a knee quite a bit in the Kilrain Sullivan marathon, that that went for so many rounds, with a round ending when one fighter takes a knee. Also, didnt Charley Mitchell knock him down once? |
