I think Gracie-Maia probably makes the most sense. Nonsense fight but you can bill at a passing of the touch when Maia gets the submission victory. Last edited by Will Cooling; 03-23-2011 at 09:05 PM. |

I have the up-most respect for Royce Gracie. Royce Gracie won 3 out of 4 of the tournament style UFC's. Armed with his family's art, Royce may have been playing with a stacked deck. For decades, the Gracie Family had been applying their art to real fighting situations in a way that no other traditional martial art had. Still, Royce had to compete in multiple fights on the same night, in a tournament with no weight classes. What Royce did revolutionized the martial arts world.
The thing is, Royce has never been an elite practitioner of BJJ. Royce has never been regarded as anywhere near the best in his family, let alone the sport of bjj. This is important in today's mma, where everyone studies bjj. Royce has to compete against fighters schooled in his family's art, under time limits, and with stand-ups. At 44 years of age, Royce doesn't really have much going for him on today's scene. If they put Royce in with some top fighters, his best chance to shine is probably against aggressive guys without a great wrestling base. Maybe Hardy or Leben, depending on what weight class he fights at. |

Royce should fight Mike Goldberg, as he's the only guy currently employed by the UFC that I give him a chance of beating at this stage. Wouldn't even fancy his chances against Rogan, White or Arianny.

Depends on the weight his fighting at. If he fights at 170 then i would love to see him fight bj penn. I always wanted to see penn fights royce just to test his bjj.
@ 185 i like to see him fight anderson silva |
