Here is a video, but NOTE: Im not showing you thin video to prove that he can knock people out, or that he is a great contender. The guy he fights here is a joke.
Boxing fans have high standards. Foreman's son looks like a promising heavyweight, but gets written off for not being as good as his dad. It's like blaming Bill Gates son for not reinventing the computer. He has had some comical competition so far, but he looks good. Here is a video, but NOTE: Im not showing you thin video to prove that he can knock people out, or that he is a great contender. The guy he fights here is a joke. But the competition is not the point. What the point is, is you can use this footage to judge his style and power. Which I think are both coming together real nice. He might as well be punching a heavybag, again that is not the point. Look at his shape, form, and movement. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K9HyLmNOQw[/ame] |

They shouldnt even match him against a guy like that. He's showing a good mix of shots, but the one time the guy pressured him he backed straight up with his head up in the air, which is not a good sign for a pro. You cant tell much from a fight like this. Its like watching a guy work on a heavybag. I think Monk is like 27 or 28

I just looked it up, hes 28. Most of his kids went to college and Sr didnt want them to box. Monk took up boxing late and is kind of learning as a pro.

Looks like a Foreman impersonator, except with no snap in his jab, less fluidity, and less power. If he applies himself he can be much better. But I don't see serious promise.

Only thing you can truly take from that is he was methodical in his breakdown of that guy. Rather than lashing wildly, he took his time even when it was obvious the guy was about to collapse.
That's a great sign. But he's skills look nothing special. |

Monk is OK. Same level of potential as Deontay Wilder, more or less. He won't get the same push, though (which is weird, given his heritage).

I met Monk at a George Foreman book signing.
He was walking down the street toward me....I thought it was his Dad......but he was even bigger than George Sr. |
