Default Jon "Bones" Jones, how far will he go? discuss

Some believe Jones is just another fighter who's reign will be temporary. Others believe Jones is the next big thing in MMA, a future all-time great, maybe even the greatest ever.
What do you think? How far will he go? discuss...

Well, he has already made it to the top in just three years. The future is very bright.

He only has to defend the belt once (decisively) and he'll be the most dominant 205 champion we've had in years. For now he certainly looks unbeatable, but 205 is insanely stacked, and anyone at any time could take that belt from him.

The biggest problem is that there's still a lot that don't know about Jones. We've never seen him rocked. We've never seen him on his back, we've never seen him pushed, either physically or mentally. We've never seen him overwhelmed in one area of the game. No one can honestly say how he'll react when any of this happens, because no one has been able to really push him.

I think he'll walk right through Rashad. Rashad will definitely be faster than anyone Bones has faced, but it won't help him, because he's essentially just another wrestler/boxer hybrid that he has crushed so many times before.

Machida will be a very interesting match up, but he needs to pick up a few good wins before he gets another shot.

Not sure he has the talent but the 205 lbs division is deep. I could see him beating rashad evans but after that it gets tougher to defend the title. We're talking about rampage-machida- rejuvenated shogun etc. It's gonna be tough to dominate since the talent pool is so deep.

Shit i give dan henderson a good chance of beating him. Dude can take a punch and has knockout power. Also a great wrestler himself.

I make him the most dominant of the prospects in MMA at the moment , lets be real he is still refining his game , therefore we still havent seen what a prime Jones looks like once he fully understands what style he has , and he has completly refined his skill set .

At his young age it wouldnt be out of place to say that he is the best 205 ' lber in the world right now , therefore on that basis he has already come a very very long way , with relative ease , therefore what is he really capable of , will he go on a long dominant GSP style run as champion ?? , id say there is every chance .

As people said he's got all the tools athletically and skill wise. But how will he hold up mentally is the main question. And so far, aside from one or two silly comments (he is 23 so he gets a pass) he seems to be on the right track

Hendrson got taken down at will controlled and dominated on the ground by Sheilds who is a great fighter but is realy a WW, at this stage Dan does not want to be fighting Jones.

Injuries and lack of PED's have diluted Shogun from the force he once was , thats bad luck , it has nothing to do with his skill set .

It's pretty clear that knee injuries have taken their toll. I dont want to start up the debate if Rua would have beaten JJ without the injuries, but I think it's a valid point in response to this post

yes i know that he has had 5 knee surgeries and that makes him not want to take any unnecessary risks but who is to say that the same wont happen to jones?

I see your point, but we'd be debating any future injuries he may have forever
