Default Calzaghe vs Woods talks have begun

On itv teletext ****** says preliminary talks are underway. Can't get excited about the prospect of this fight at all.

I would like to see this fight. It would gauge how effective Calzaghe would be at the higher weight.

Woods would provide a much sterner test than many on here believe.

If it's a fight early in the new year with plans on a fight against either Hopkins or Pavlik/Taylor in the Spring/Summer then I'm not that bothered.

Hopkins is a bigger name in Sheffield than Woods

I really hope this doesnt happen, Calzaghe need to cement his legacy with some genuine names now, Clinton Woods will add nothing to his legacy. He should go to the Yankee Stadium, beat Hopkins, then retire one of the greatest boxers of his era.

i'm not so sure hopkins - calzaghe will happen any more unless there is major money involved.

but as an alternative i'd still rather see him face a respected american fighter, as woods doesn't get enough respect to add anything to calzaghes record.

Woods is the 2nd best fight for Joe. Hopkins looks shot (unless the fight against Winky was an abberation.) and all this talk of fighting a name is ridiculous.
He should fight the best opponents at the weight and I dont care what Bernards name is, he aint one of them!

Woods, then Dawson, then retire.

Good fight. Woods is a strong titlist who will come to fight. Hopkins will cause too much trouble making the fight and then likely stink the place out when they are in the ring.

Woods will give it a go but get torn up. Good British show down and I sure as hell want to see Woods get a pay day instead of Hopkins.

I think ****** is just doing this to make Hopkins aware Calzaghe can go else where. Theres no other fight for Hopkins now as Ibragimov is fighting Klitschko!

I like this fight

but only after he dusts off the old bastard

he should fight the Pavlik Taylor winner as his last fight

as Dawson is all risk and no reward right now and Hopkins is a scared old bastard
