Looks like his warmup.
Lets see what the internet scientists make of this one.

oh well damn this is pretty much my routine except for a few exercises and I do less reps

Do you guys think it's better to do them back to back with little rest like Manny is doing, or maybe wait a little bit in between exercises or does it not really matter

i agree that doesnt look like enough to prepare your mid section for a potentially heavy assault from mosley even if he is an old man

14 exercises. 50 reps each. Hardly a warm up

They won't be the only exercises Manny uses for his abs, Ariza said in his video that his routine is always changing, but that sure wasn't a damn warmup.

According to Ariza in the video going around, he does 14 sets of 50 for his ab workout, which is what he did in this clip. No way is that only a warm up.

back to back.

the idea seems to be to keep alll of the ab muscles stressed through the whole work out.

if you do leg raises then rest and then do crunches you feel it in your lower abs for the leg raises and in the upper abs for the crunches. if you do it back to back you feel it in the lower abs for the leg raises and feel it in the lower and upper abs for the crunches since the upper and lower abs are both part of the same muscle and the lower abs are still feeling stressed while you do the crunches....then as you work your obliques you still use the rectus ab and still feel it in your upper and lower abs....ect ect ect.

this also might have something to do with why the exercises might seem quick and easy but by the time you hit 300 or so quick easy ab exercises every part of your abs are screaming and you just want to colaspe between each set of 50.

as well manny might just consider this 1 set of 700 reps and do this 3 times a day.

Manny is very tough with the muscle pump. Outside of the gym i do a similar workout which is based off freddie roachs instructional. Builds up pain switching upper and lower non stop. Good to see manny still does the workout, he does it like a champ though, very tough.

thanks man, that makes a lot of sense. I've done them both styles and I can feel the difference, but I was trying to see how the more knowledgeable posters out there felt about it
