How much salt are you eating?

Pay HUGE attention to this!

I was drinking about 1-1.5 gallons of water a day, but had very little sodium in my diet, and when I had blood work done it showed muscle breakdown and leakage into my blood (due to lack of muscle hydration from the very uneven levels of water and sodium).

11 liters.... Are you taking the piss?
The average male drinks like 2 liters a day. Perhaps if you were trying to lose weight before a fight this would make some sense but 11 liters is still too much. Stop drinking so much.

In fact, i think your bullshitting.

That is exactly where I was going with it man!

The dude is going to need to be drinking pickle juice with meals and eating rock salt like popcorn sprinkled with limestone dust for snacks to maintain that level of hydration!

Whoah, too much muscle breakdown could lead to kidneys going haywire:

For whatever reason diet drinks (read: nutrasweet) cause a blood sugar spike even though they are 'sugar free', which won't help your weight loss plans. Just drink your ice tea 'plain'.

There is such a thing as water poisoning...

With drinking, it really comes down to just listen to your body. I've read a bunch of articles that suggested that the 2-3 litres per day, that seems to be the standard recommendation, is just a random number someone pulled out of their ass and has actually no scientific basis.

Drink when you're thirsty. If you are thirsty for 3 gallons a day however, something seems wrong. My study of science-fiction films leads me to believe you are an Alien...

A girl in my town was on ecstasy and didn't know you could drink too much water. She is dead now.

Yup. There's no scientific evidence that I've ever seen to support it.

As others have said, drink when you're thirsty. If you're thirsty for ridiculous amounts of fluids (11 litres is a ridiculous amount), it's a possibility that something is very wrong.
