Most of Gained's post was a copy paste from another site, just FYI.
HW kickboxing wasnt really established when Vitali was fighting, he switched over to boxing before K-1 really gained steam. It would have been interesting to see him fight the top kickboxers of the day, from Cikatic to Aerts to Hoost to Bernardo, but K-1s first tournament was in 93 and predating that their was no major venue for HW Thai boxing. Lumpinee, Raja, and other stadiums of course have been established for years upon years, but the highest weight class is around 160 lbs. Not too many Heavyweight Thai's running around Also it should be noted Vitali didnt fight in full Thai rules, he fought with a ruleset that prohibited leg kicks, and the one full thai fight he fought he lost against Roosmalen. Needless to say Vitali is a natural born fighter and could have achieved success in any fight sport he put his mind too. |
