Default Best Psychological Strategy

This may be a dumb question, but what do you guys think the strategy for winning.

To have your opponents intimidated of you and in essence over estimate you
Example: Mike Tyson vs Spinks

or for them to under estimate you and take you too lightly.
Example: Judah vs Baldomir

I some how intimidate people by showing no emotion, seeing the look on someone's face when you took their best shot and it appears like you didn't even know you were hit

I do the opposite, I look at the floor of the ring the whole time.

Figure out what puts you in the right mental state to perform as well as you can.

Forget the other guy.

exactly! forget the other guy.

if you focus on the other guy instead of inward, he will be leading the dance and you'll always be one step behind as you follow. in sport psychology i look at one of four things that attribute to outcome; skills, effort, luck, and powerful others (blaming it on the ref, judges, coaches, etc). the only two we have control over is skills and effort. do what works for you. if you try to use an intimidating stare (pretty much you're trying to "bully" the other guy) and the first time you're fighting above your level and your confidence slightly waivers, now you're going to feel weak and be intimidated. instead use positive self talk ("i got this", "i've been working hard in the gym and i've overcome adversity to be on top", "my best is good enough, and i'm giving my best", "no matter what comes my way i am strong"). respect your opponent that has entered in the ring and be confident with you because of you, not anyone else.

I think the best mindset to have is one of stubbornness. For example, the way Morales fights gives me the impression he is thinking "how dare you challenge me, do you know who I am? I am a God, I cannot be hurt by any human being, I'm going to punish you greatly for even dreaming you could beat me". This mindset allows for fearlessness, but isn't to be confused with anger which will result in you tiring quickly.

Jake LaMotta had one of the best chins ever, and he would repeatedly tell himself that no man could hurt him before and during his fights. Being stubborn is the key here, I feel. I get the same impression when I see Barrera fight also.
