Both fighters are very very good but it seems again that some are still looking for the boxer to defeat Calzaghe. Chad needs to "clean" his division (Tarver, Hopkins, Diaconu) to earn his right to fight a legend like Joe and even so Bad Chad will back up and get swamped by Calzaghe hand speed and work rate. IMHO Calzaghe wins this one now.
Which is why he will get the experience he needs once he faces Diaconu. After he beats Diaconu he will face either Woods, Johnson, Erdie, Tarver, etc, which will earn him a shot against Calzaghe. If Calzaghe were to face Dawson it will be either late fall or early winter next year, and by that time Dawson will be experienced enough to kick his ass. Of course this is nothing more then my prediction, (although I'm positive Dawson will face Diaconu as his next opponent) and I'm no fortune teller, but this is the scenario I would like to happen. As for Calzaghe's work rate and hand speed, well you're forgetting that Dawson is one the few elite fighters that has all the fundamentals down, which means he has very little room for mistakes. Not to mention he has tremendous technical skills, and one of the fastest boxers in this sport. I can guarantee you this, Dawson will be nailing Calzaghe with right hooks and straight lefts all night once they fight.

I agree with ur point. If Chad wins against some solid oposition 2-3 more fights (ie Tarver and/or Diaconu) and the fight against Calzaghe is late next year Chad could end Joe's career. But as other ppl mention Calzaghe will prolly look for other bigger/safer names and he is dangerous for any foe.

Dawson is fast, but his speed and reach wouldn't matter against Calzaghe's timing.

Calzaghe can also see into the 5th dimenson and would find all kind of angles through Dawson's defence.

Dawson was troubled slightly in in last fight by a practical nobody. Whilst in a few years he may be great, ****ing hell.

Calzaghe.

Haha tell me a second in the last Dawson fight when he was troubled? That is an idiotic thing to say.
