No, a lot work quite well for their intended purpose, but in most cases they definitely aren't needed to achieve the results the person wants. Black coffee and fasted cardio first thing in the morning is the most effective way to lose body fat. Green tea pills work well (not bull**** ones, for example the reflex nutrition ones are great, they are quite concentrated). Ephedrine, caffeine etc are also good raising your resting heart rate and thinning the blood, which burns fat to a degree, plus obviously stimulates you for your training. Eating more fat in your diet will metabolise more fat for energy use. Cod liver oil which includes fish oil and vitamin D are also great additions plus have a host of general health benefits.

There are no shortcuts for long term progress and results. None of the above are necessary with regards to fat loss, and in your case you are just hindering your athletic output by trying to get to an even lower weight, but that's not what you asked.

Mr small you sound like you now what your talking about. Would you recommend the use of fat loss pills are not? I'd feel weird asking my trainer because i dont want to seem lazy and willing to take short cuts.

Is there a certain calorie number that a cup of coffee burns?

Are fat burners "unhealthy"? I'm thinking about taking them, but if they're going to damage my kidneys or something I won't

I think it's better just to add an extra mile on to your running each day and cut back on the calories to lose weight. Why would you want to do something so unnatural as this?

No, fish oil, green tea pills, vitamin d are good for other benefits too though so take those.

HOWEVER I would not advise you to lose any more weight, especially since you made another thread about you feeling like **** trying to lose weight, and here you are trying even more aggressive means of weight loss.

Yeah some things marketed as "fat burners" ARE bull**** and some do you a bit of harm as well so I can't reccommend them. Fish oil, green tea, vitamin d are all great for general health and should be abundant in your diet so you take those, one of their additional benefits is fat burning in some form or other. The ones that work the best are usually not available over the counter, and in some countries illegal, and banned under WADA etc etc.

He made a whole other thread about overtraining and feeling like **** so I doubt adding MORE training and having even LESS calories would be ideal in his shoes. Unnatural.. so is you sitting on a computer. So is you taking an ibuprofen when you are in pain. It's all relative. Some things are more "from nature" than others but extracting an oil from the liver of the cod fish isn't too "natural", it has GREAT health benefits, but we don't get as much through our diets as we should (most of us), so we take it in pill format, is that also unnatural? But if we ate another few fish per week it would be ok?
Fat burning pills are generally bull**** though and to be avoided.

Ultimately fat loss is down to diet and exercise, supplements play a small part in the diet but if you load up on the things I reccommended, eat mcdonalds twice a day, and drink little water, that isn't going to make much difference is it?

I have been trying to drop some excess bodyfat but I would never ever consider taking a fat burner. These supplements are not tested like medicines so the long term side effects are unknown. Unless the products contains active ingredients that have a long history of safe use (I mean decades not a few years) like caffeine or green tea then I would not risk it.

Saw a documentary about a 90's fat loss pill that was very widely used for years that left people with serious organ damage. There was this one woman who's internal organs had swollen up and could no longer be contained by her body and so where literally hanging out of her body and where carried around in a bag! **** that ****. I'd rather train a little harder and be patient with my weight loss than look for a quick fix and end up a freak and a physical wreck.

the main ingredient in fat burners is usually caffein and a lot of other fillers to make it sound special.

so just buy some caffein pills or drink strong coffee and hit the gym.
