Basically unwinnable by Haye. Ike beat a better operator in Byrd, and a better puncher in Tua.

Ike would spark Haye, badly.

Ike looked well on his way to being one of Lennox's sternest challenges.

Sadly he was f'n bonkers!!!

Still, seemed to have the attributes necessary for HW success; good shots to head and body, a serious dig and an iron chin.

A better question would be: which Klitschko would have the best chance to fend him off?

Ike was a fairly standard offensive fighter. His main attributes were his strength and engine, and the fact he could throw a lot of punches. He had a solid punch in either hand and picked his shots well.

He did nothing brilliantly, just pretty solid all round offensive beast, a real monster of a fighter not afraid to close the distance.

reference tua vs ike. he would take everything Haye had to offer, then come back and knock him out. I think he would have been a bit too rigid for Lewis had he got that far, but he certainly would have turned up in terrific shape and game as hell which means a lot at heavyweight. what was it he did again? tried to pay some hooker with a cheque?

Chris Byrd had serious balls. I don't whether he couldn't be arsed to make the weight or was chasing bigger paydays and bigger fights, but he was probably a natural middle/light heavy who was skilled and tough enough to take on most of the best Heavys from the past 15 years or so.

And got by in a lot of fights without any dig to speak of.

Chasing Byrd tired Ike out, but as I said before, he had the kinda' engine where he could keep going and put good work together. 6:25 to see how powerful he could be on the inside. Makes Byrd dribble badly!

7:09; despite being under pressure from a beast like Ike, Byrd is still rolling with the punches and slipping in the way that Haye thinks he can do but doesn't actually have the reflexes to pull of.

Fuck Ike, Byrd would beat Haye.

For those that haven't seen it, the classic slug fest that broke HW compubox records!!!!

Ibeabuchi was no wild slugger. He knew when to pick his hands up, and had a pretty sharp jab when he tried to use it. The fact he fights Tuas fight and survives where so many others around this time didn't suggests to me he had no durability issues.

I think it's easy to disregard Tua nowadays as a short slob who had no dedication and 'lost all his big fights' but the fact is he was beatable if you stayed out of range and didn't allow him to laand his short compact punches. Ike fought him in a phone booth and won a close fight, but more importantly took everything Tua threw at him. Both Byrd and Tua were undefeated when they fought Ibeabuchi. Tua was coming off this (0:24):

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VgUaCQZJEc[/ame]

And a K.O win over dangerous (but fragile) Maskaev (man his handlers must've hated him) so was pretty much at his most destructive when he fought Ibeabuchi.

Ike was a waste of talent, but, as is well documented, was sadly a mentalist.
