Was going to a boxing gym once a week before but decided to just do boxing routines by myself in the neighborhood now.
Wondering about hand safety. First I wrap my hands in some ezwrap glove thing I bought from my gym. It has small gel like padding on the knuckles and then a long length of cloth material to wrap your wrists and hands. Then I put on training gloves. Not sure on their weight (not heavy though). I head to a tree. I made a small padding by taking a large toilet paper roll, crushing it down and compressing it into a square shape, then duct taping around it all. It gets tied onto the tree and I punch it. My hands don't typically feel that sore or hurt that much....last time I did feel anything it went away after an hour or so. I am not really concerned, but thought I would be better safe than sorry and ask around about this. Surprisingly, trying to google stuff about this didn't work because searches turned up people punching hard things barefisted, completely unprotected. Any concern if I am already using this much padding? |
