The Mexican headgear does make a difference and will help keep your contacts in. I have lost contacts numerous times due to slight contact from a jab and even in clinches, when I wear the Mexican headgear this rarely happens.

I doubt it, Asian lad at my gym had them in didnt tell anyone and was nearly blinded when they got knocked, before they fell on the floor.
