Both had close wins over world class opponents Hatton-Collazo, Froch-Dirrell/Taylor. If Froch beats a boxer as good as Ward I'd stick him above. |

Still makes me laugh how people won't give Froch credit for beating Jermain Taylor because he was 'losing'.. yeah then he knocked him the fuck out
And he wasn't behind by much on the cards anyway, I think I had Taylor one point up going into the last round.Froch has done more than Hatton IMO but people shouldn't be too harsh on Hatton. The way he battered Malignaggi proves he was a level above your regular 'champions', while being a level below the truly elite champions like Floyd and Manny. |

Urango went on to have some solid wins over Hatton in Njgoudjo (who beat Paulie IMO) and Randell Bailey, arguably the hardest puncher in the history of the ten stone division.

Same kinda' peeps that claim Meldrick was robbed against Chavez The fight is 36 minutes long ffs, that's how long you have to win the fight, that fight demonstrated what a determined fighter Froch is. Others have demonstrated his ability to not have to pull a win out of his ass

What people are forgetting is that Ricky has a lot more solid B-level wins, the likes of Phillips, Tackie, Olivera and Stewart, which accumulate to a better 2nd tier than Reid, Dodson and Magee IMO.

That's true but personally I don't get impressed with regular wins over the same kind of level of opponent. When Hatton was defending that WBU title it was ridiculous and I've no doubts that Froch could've easily done the same kind of thing if he was promoted that way.

Frochs top wins are better (though not quite one fighter on the level of Tszyu yet, but not far off) but I'm reserving judgement on rating him until all is said and done. He's yet to face the no.1 in his division (in terms of rankings, even if he has battled his way up to the top in his own right) and I think Ward is his defining fight, let's see how he performs. |

I love Froch, but How much benefit has the hype of the Super 6 helped him and the profile of those fighters involved in this series i.e. if it wasn't for the Super 6 and he had just fought those same fighters without the S6 would we give his resume the same credit?
Go back to the beginning of the S6 and there is no doubt the profile of all those fighters has increased. It was just classed an average division before this started, the S6 has given us multiple competitive fights and it's been a great series, but were any "super talents"? Don't get me wrong Froch is a warrior and would probably fight a prime Tyson. I also think his resume is strong, I just think there maybe some promotional bias due to the S6 and/or underating of Hatton on this site. |

I don't think that's true personally. Like a lot of divisions, it was looking likely to explode if the right matchups could be made.

In term's of fight's and victories, you could argue that Froch has surpassed Hatton. Many will argue different but both parties can stake a case, it can only be properly evaluated when Froch retires...
Sadly, even if Froch went on and beat some top fighter's (Ward, Kessler, etc), he'd still live in Ricky's shadow to the casual Boxing fan |

True but fact is, without the Super Six and with Fat Mick as a promoter, I wonder if Froch would have got to the position he is in now.

A good division with a lot of great fight match ups and as I say I'm loving watching it as there are no easy or one sided fights. It's just based on this thread and the scoring for Froch so clearly I do feel that the profile and percieved ability of each fighter has been increased due to the set up of the S6. More s6's are needed! |

Just as impressive from a promotional point of view. Without the Super 6 theres not a cat in hells chance that that run of fights would have happened.
