Pls oh pls dont say so. Would you fight someone even though you know she is way above your skill level? If that is a viable alternative, then maybe you should go for it

I have done that already. I usually fight gals that either outweigh me by a couple of weight classes or ones that are really experienced. That's why I have so many losses. I'll fight anyone. They just aren't out there. Or at least we can't find them.

Sigh. I guess its time to move to another state if you would wanna do that. But there has got to be some other way.

Apparently her coach called the guy how is putting the event on and said that he is bringing two of his "premier boxers" (what ever the f*ck that means) and she's not one of them. So he doesn't want any of his crappy boxers fighting on the same card as his "premier boxers" because it will make his gym look bad.

Soooo yeah. Lame. What a crap coach. I bet that really makes his 'non-premier boxers' feel really good.
Is this typical of how amateur bouts fall apart?

Sorry to hear that, amy. Hang in there.

What regions in the US have the biggest amateur boxing followings, most bouts, etc?

Pretty much. I've had more bouts fall through than actually happen. It's really hard to stay motivated.

Not sure. But if you can't find one in Nevada (that's where the fights are going to be held) then I doubt there are many elsewhere.

Southern California, South Texas, Michigan, Metro NY, and Illinois are the top 5 LBCs in terms of registered athletes (all have over 1,000).

Local Boxing Committee/Council; something like that. It's how amateur boxing is organized in the US. Local (LBC) level; Regional level, National level. For example, the region Amy and I are in is WYMONDAK (composed of Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas).

Amateur boxing in Mexico isn't necessarily the best organized affair. Canada is actually a better (and a lot more probably, actually) of a bet.
