Johnny Tapia, he was a beast at 115lbs and at 118lbs as wellbut more so at SuperFly. That would be a hell of a fight in either weight. |

Yes. Very much so. That's not to say that Donaire's win over him was unimpressive or anything, but in the grand scheme of things Montiel was a pretty mediocre champion, decent at best by all time standards. Still, Donaire defeated him in a way that proves his class, same with his victory over Darchinyan. That's the way potential greats tend to look against fighters of that ilk.
Still, Donaire is nowhere near proven enough at Bantam to hold him up against the true greats of the sport. We'll see where he goes from here. |

I'm aware. He doesn't need to get carried away, though. Winning titles in multiple weight classes is only truly impressive if you're beating the best in those divisions. It's not about winning the most titles on paper, it's about taking on the best fighters, period. That looks like the route he wants to go down, so I wish him the best.

Just to end this nonsense, Panama Al Brown would had kick Donaire's from the USA all the way back to the Philippines making stops at Panama and San Francisco, he is not the GOAT at any weight, he is a good boxer that happens to b bigger than his foes, Montiel, Vic and the other guy were smallest, good wins but not to elevate him to an GOAT status, you want an AG I give you Brown, won 132 (KO 61) + lost 19 (KO 0) + drawn 12 = 164
