First, define "prime"...

Average and lousy fighters also reach their "prime" at one point, does that count?

Castillo, Chico, Probably Judah, I know he had just lost and all but he was probably as good as ever against Floyd.

You're right, my question would be better phrased if I said 'A-class fighters in their prime'.

He was 23 when that fight happened. I doubt he was out of his prime at 23.

What would you consider in their "Prime" Undefeated?...

Here's my definition of Prime: hasnt been inactive for more than one year, fights at least twice a year, had won his last 5 fights against reknown fighters, has no more than 10% rate of lost fights...hey but thats just me...

Castillo, Corrales, and Hatton coming up. If Mayweather fights Cotto next then no one can knock on his record. Other than Zoo and maybe Mosley how many great fighters has he had the opportunity to fight?

Corrales and Castillo definitely. Probably Judah too and Chavez and Hernandez were still in good shape.

Bruseles was definitly in his prime!

After losing to Baldomir its easy to argue that Zab was past his best.

Prime fights:

Hatton fought Collazo (a B fighter).

PBF fought Castillo (an A fighter), Coralles (a B+ fighter)

Just Forgot ....Ricky got a big opportunity for $$ with Floyd, I would not consider Ricky in his prime, he lacks good fights... BTW Its widely known that he lost against Collazo. On this fight he has knockout advantage, bad thing is that you can't hit what you can't see. Also Floyd didn't look extremely dominant against Zab, he won alright clear, but didn't ran over Judah like everyone was expecting to.
