Default Pilates

Excuse me if this has already been done however I'm not a huge fan of MMA and therefore I spend no time on this part of the forum.

Do any of you lot (who actually train in/participate in MMA) study Pilates?

I've recently starting doing it at my local gym and one of my first thoughts was how this could possibly help you if you wanted to improve your 'ground work'. The core-stability and the balance training is fantastic

If not sorry for wasting your time

Pilates is one of the best forms of crosstraining out there for the reason you offered above, the core strength and stability it provides.

As far as I know most athletes in any sports will, at some point, do some pilates exercises, I used to in hockey for instance. Balance and stability are useful all around.

The fitball is a very underated peice of kit. When they first came out many people thought it was just another silly fad. But they are very useful for helping create core balance.

Amazing, Dan, the biggest MMA hater of all time, is actually curious as to the benefits of pilates to an MMA training regimen, and is also offering it as possible help to anyone training in MMA
