LA adores Kobe, he's like a God here. And this is a heavily Mexican and Filipino populated city - so many of the same sports fans that rock Kobe's jersey are also big fans of Pacman. As a whole, LA is probably more "team Pacquiao" than "team Mayweather". Plus, I believe Manny has met Kobe several times...
All of this probably plays a factor in Bryant's "prediction". |

That's the big rumor. I don't know how, but if they could keep Kobe AND Gasol and pick up Howard they would be a force again. I think Kobe is on the way out though...
Don't really watch the NBA though, to me it's just not what is was when you had Magic, Bird and Jordan (earlier years). The late 80's-early 90's were the golden years for the NBA. |
