Default Hopkins,Mayweather,Pacquiao 3 Best Of The Decade + All Share One Common Thing

Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao All Have the skills layered with DECEPTION.

These 3 are on another level with mental deception against there opponents.
Whether body language, physics or mentally each has a rather easy time deceiving there opponents when needed. Often they do not even need to use this as there skills are enough to outclass their opposition. When necessary each can use all 3 forms of deception against their opponent.

This is why a fighter like RJJ is not much without speed. His speed was his only form of deception.

Who are your 3 best of the decade ?

Can you elaborate a little bit? what do u mean by deception . Roy Jones wasn't all speed. He had pretty great boxing skills. Problem is when he slowed down he became easier to hit and his chin got exposed.

edit o wait i get what u mean now. I still think it's a myth that jones wasn't a skillful fighter. And he did go up to heavyweight and win the championship , as guy below me mentioned.

Get Hopkins to move up to heavyweight and then back down or get Pacquiao or Floyed to move back down to lightweight and see how drained they are. Roy was good all around.

i think pac's deception is that people thought he can be outmuscled.

Razor close between Mayweather/Pacquiao. Hopkins would be the clear #3. If the "decade" discussed is 2011-2002 or 2010-2001, it does make a difference.

Obviously, Mayweather and Hopkins' achievement and resume gain a lot of steam from 2002 or 2001 down, whereas Pacquiao's does not.

But Roy Jones is H2H a better fighter than all 3.

If Roy had the basic boxing fundamental skills, then he wouldn't get ktfo so many times like a glass jawed chinny *******.

Even B-Hop said it himself, all Roy had was athletisicm and speed and when those 2 attributes were gone as Roy aged, he was getting ktfo by non elite bums.

^ Athleticsm and speed alone won't make you a good fighter. Saying jones had no skills at all is real silly. He had a ton of skills - he was an awesome counter puncher, and combination puncher. You don't think that takes skill?

Jones defense was always his weak link, and when he slowed down his chin was exposed. No he's not as fundamentally sound as someone like Hopkins, but he had a lot of skills .

People get carried away too often Jones had skill that was a very very high level. Who even now throws combinations like him?

The problem was as he got older he didnt adjust his fighting style to suit and he thought he could be as elusive as he had been during his younger days but his defense was built of his speed and reactions.

Once that stated to leave him he needed to adjust to stay competitive and unfortunately he didnt and thats why he got K.O'd

Also factor in the weight draining and you understand why his chin became permantly broken he needed to take care of his body better he put it through too much and also took too much punishment.

To have a long SUCCESSFUL career you have to be able to ADJUST not only to your opponents but to your body.

RJJ's defense was his speed and reflexes, once that went with his age he had no other answer for defense.
