Likewise I consider non-PPV fights on Showtime or HBO here in the states to be "free" even though they are paid for on my monthly cable bill. Force of habit, sorry. Literally free-to-air boxing on American TV is almost unheard of these days (for decades now, really) so it doesn't even occur to us to make the distinction.
we r conditioned now to think if its not ppv its free, lol.

sorry mate. I meant it's not PPV. They should put the Katsidis fight on One HD if FOX don't want it though.

Dam, i thought he ALMOST killed it, i didnt know the karnt really did

Was looking forward to seeing more fights on One HD, i see more MMA on it these days than anything else combat wise which is sad because it had huge potential in brining back the adverage joe blow to the boxing screens. Hopefull they may revive the days of Ringside KOTV.

Stify, did you hear one HD may pick it up or you think they might?

hope they might. Better than re-runs of Cops surely. Doubt they will though.

Our channels have gone backwards, we can no longer get channel 10, 9 or 7 in HD, they use 7mate and gem as their HD channels and its usually old shit that isnt even in widescreen, ****in no use buying a HD TV in this country unless you fork out for FOX HD subsription.

The promise from channel 9 is they would simulcast sport on GEM that lasted a whole month and back to the antique road show
I was ****ing fuming when they switched the main chanels off HD, the world promotes HD this and that and our ****ing Country turns it off. But hey we get to watch 500 repeats of freinds in narrow screen on the supposed HD channel, might as well get the old 52 inch rankarena back out .

i think the problem is that free to air TV doesnt have the infastructure like Fox and Austar, they also have a limited budget. PPV pretty much eventually kills off free to air as is seen in USA. I thought the goverment was throwing a bit more support to the free to air networks because we were all pretty much forced to switch to HD TVs once they switched off analog.

When do you guys think Zappa will get another title shot?

Believe it or not, this is actually an eliminator against Diaz for a chance at a rematch with Vazquez.

Roger said that about Ameth?

Does he train him?

He certainly won't be in Diaz's corner if he's going to be in Tim Coleman's halfway round the world that same day.

Anyway, the Panamanian is no soft touch for Zappa as he looks to bounce back from losing his world title to Miguel Vazquez. He's chinny but has power of his own and always comes to fight...and has a wealth of experience in it.

Sure, you could point to their highest-profile common opponent - Ji Hoon Kim, who was blown out in a round by Zappavigna and in turn took that same amount of time to get rid of Diaz - and say it's a mismatch, but consider this:

Many felt Fernando Angulo deserved the nod against Zappavigna (myself included). Diaz beat him rather handily, scoring three knockdowns (5 rounds to 2 on two of the judges' cards in one of those odd-numbered round bouts they have in Panama)

So much for A>B>C logic, as the sport has taught us time and time again.

Homegrown Victorian light heavyweight prospect Blake Caparello is also on the card, taking something of a step up against Ghanaian brick house Joe Kwadjo in his tenth consecutive professional exploit in the comforts of his home state. The Pride of Osu recently stopped Jamie Pittman a year back via the "three knockdowns in a round" rule.

Unlike Dib-Lacierva (or Mundine-Tolliver...or Green-Tarver) this card is on free Aussie TV.

Is nobody excited for this? Just the foreigner 1700km away?
IMO you are the best poster across the whole site.
