Oleg Platov

Where is 29-1-0-1 Heavyweight Oleg Platov? He hasn't fought in one year. The man is 28 years old with a good pro resume and solid amateur pedigree. One would figure Platov would be in line for a title shot by now, instead he ruined his chance with a year of inactivity, and will likely need a couple of fights to get back into the picture.

This time last year we were expecting Platov vs Dimitrenko to come off. Not only did that figth not materialize for Platov, but no fights have happened since.

Is he having personal problems, promoter trouble, or legal issues? What is the deal with him, he is a very exciting fighter.

They tried to make Platov-Pulev 3 or 4 times.

He hasn't really beent he same since the Danny Willams fight. Too bad. The division can use every good heavy out there.

I think that fight was tough, but not something that has really taken anything out of him.

Maybe he is just having trouble with his promoter?

Its been some years now. He was figthing regulalry and winning until that bout. I don't know.

I got PM from an ESB member named Bubby saying that Oleg is having managerial issues atm.

Sad waste of talent. He looked the best I've ever seen him in his last fight, against Gbenga Oloukun.

Danny ruined him, was winning untill the crooks just stopped the fight before the ending of the fourth round and denied Danny a win and the IBF Intercontinental Title!!!

Boxrec have him down as having a comeback against Michael Sprott on Dec 25. Make of that what you will, hopefully he does come back.
