Nice match up tho. Lucus Browne would also be a good second teir opponent if he gets past Towers this week-end.

Boytsov seems like he has been around forever, but he's still 27. A match up with Malik Scott would be a good match too, maybe for the 'been around forever but not done much' belt.

Funny you should say that.

el Nino, David Rodriguez, a 6'4 250lb, from El Paso Tx. is making his ring return after nearly two yrs off due to injuries. He's fighting next on the Monsour v Price card alongside USS Cunningham. Actually a pretty good overall lineup, except USS and elNino have yet to secure top 50 opponents, and likely will not.
Having noticed his ring return, and with Boystov finally hooking up with a solid promoter, it reminded me of how Rodriguez was all set to sign to fight Boystov for a fight in Vegas on the card of a pretty large GBP show.

The way some of these promising prospects have been going lately, it would make sense for both Denis and David to reconsider something like that.

There's been several small marquee matchups lately, and Boystov vs Rodriguez makes as much or more sense now that even 4 yrs ago. I'd love to see these guys start mixing it up some more so we can getting an idea of who's gonna be who in the next few yrs.

Looking forward to the showdown with Leipai... it has all the ingredients to be a great HW fight. Leapai will be competitive and looking for the KO as long as he remains conscious.. After this Boystov should face the Solis/Johnson winner. if he wins those 2 fights he's right back in the mix again. Might end up being a voluntary defense for Wlad next year regardless of what he does after Leapai(assuming he wins of course)

I hope Boytsov's injuries are a thing of the past, he was such a good fighter, power and skills...............I have read that Vlad could fight Boytsov next year, but it's up to Pulev since he is Vlad's mandatory, Pulev wants to fight another fight before fighting Vlad. Vlad has mentioned Wilder's name more than once, so who knows. Vitali will announce his plans on Nov. 30th........

Boystov/Leapai should be a decent scrap.

Wilder would KO Boystov in one round.

Yes, if Denis can stay healthy he'll be an important contender in the division. He's still young at age 27.

Mark my words: Boystov is done. He's been a pro for 9 years and he's not going to get any better from here. He's started early, he'll decline early. Unless you've got no amateur career to speak of, that's how it works more often than not.

So far Denis hasn't fought anyone decent enough to be discovered which side he's on. But I do agree that the kid is done!

Another cashed out waste of talent!
Ah, but many, many, many Mexicans and Asians start young without an amatuer pedigree and do well after struggling initially. However, other than them, those that start young fizzle out early. Regardless of how old you are when you start your career, the quantity of years at the top of your game are generally the same.

A lengthy amateur career can take it out of you by the time you even turn pro. Laszlo Papp for example, and you could argue Kostya Tszyu. I guarantee Rigondeaux will have no more than 25 pro fights. He might even stop before 20.

He seems to not give a shit about boxing. His future lies in the german porn industry I'm afraid, Coke and gayporn will be his legacy.
