Default Ukrainian card Friday 8/26: Senchenko vs. Avendano & Kashtanov vs. Balzsay

This is a decent card. Two WBA world title bouts - Viacheslav Senchenko vs. Marco Antonio Avendano for the welterweight championship and Stas Kashtanov vs. Karoly Balzsay for the super middleweight championship - are bolstered by a fairly well matched undercard.

Is this televised in Europe? If so, what time does the coverage start?

Who do people like in the main events?

Undefeated beltholder Senchenko is probably taking on his 2nd best opponent to date (1st being Nuzhnenko). 38 year old Avendano, though, hasn't really had any meaningful ring appearances in the several years since his career best win - a knockout of Sebastian Lujan in 2005 - other than a pair of losses to Nobuhiro Ishida in '08 and '09. Other than those trips to Japan, this will be Avendano's first time since 2005 facing anyone other than a tomate puede in South America. Unless he can turn back the clock and really figure out a way to bother the hometown favorite, the Venezuelan is probably in for a jabbing lesson (and his final sniff of a world title).

Promising but unsatisfactorily developed Kashtanov is taking a significant step up against former WBO champ Balzsay. Kashtanov is strong like bull with a right hand cannon, and a pretty good rhythm boxer who's willing to play cat and mouse for a while without getting impatient and losing his cool. Balzsay is nothing exceptional, but a solid and experienced operator whose best weapon is probably a left uppercut that he'll walk through fire to flatten against the bottom of an enemy's chin. Speaking of chins, the Hungarian's isn't the steadiest - having been wobbled several times by non-puncher Robert Stieglitz in ten long rounds of destruction at the challenger's hands - but he has heart to spare (evidenced by his dishing it right back out to Stieglitz all the way, and coming through his earlier war with Denis Inkin to win the title in the first place). Kashtanov could find it easy to hurt Balzsay but difficult to put him away.

I'll check the scedule for you when I get home from work

By the way, I have Senchenko by easy KO and Balzsay to stop the undefeated Kashtanov (that looks like a much better matchup)

Hard to say what Avendano and Balzsay have left. Im not impressed with Kashtanov much he looks physically strong thats it. even Balzsay who aside from maybe some rounds against Stieglitz before he collapsed never came across with a halfway solid performance since he beat Inkin two and a half years ago should be able to ground that guy at this stage imo

Any updates, guys?

That promoter's website seems to have a bunch of pictures of the undercard in progress (all outdoors and in bright daylight, which makes sense as it's still the afternoon in the Ukraine).

There doesn't seem to be any live streaming video. Of course it's also hard to navigate the site without understanding the language.

This event must be a pretty big deal over there. Instead of that imposter Mikhail Buffer, they've sprung for the real deal himself:

Balzsay vs Kashtanov: very close fight, could have gone either way. Balzsay won the decision.
