I don't think he'll sniff a title shot either and his management obviously feels the same way. If they didn't he wouldn't still be fighting at Dirty Dick's Fight Night at the local strip joint after 17 pro bouts. No, I think his likely career trajectory is about ten more fights on the flea market circuit and then his management will decide that the risk is worth the reward and throw him in a FNF with a live body where he will be exposed for the China Chinned Hype Job that he is.

Really, all the signs are here and I can't for the life of me figure out how these fools really can't see the writing on the wall. He got dropped hard by feather fisted Sconiers who I think had a KO percentage hovering in the twenties or low thirties, he's still fighting on the Deep South bum-of-the-month tour after 17 pro bouts, and he's avoiding anybody with a decent KO ratio. I think the reason why Wilder may fail at higher levels has less to do with any issues relating to punch resistance, and more to do with other flaws, such as a one dimensional approach that seems entirely reliant upon landing the right hand. As he steps up in class, he's going to have to find a way to vary his attack, or else opponents are going to have increasing success should they survive an initial assault.

That being said, if his technique does improve, then he could make some noise, regardless of how "glass-jawed" people think he might be. There are multiple cases of fighters who became really good- and sometimes even great- after suffering early ko'ds (or even kd's) at the hands of lesser fighters.

So, I'm not inclined to write him off completely just yet.

He beat Damon Reed, who has only lost to C plus level fighters. So if that says anything about Wilder, I guess time will tell. But almost all the fighters Reed lost to, went on to become title holders, regional, continental or world.

I see Wilder is fighting Alexsander next....should be an easy KO for Wilder. Would love to see him vs David Rodriquez after that, a step up for both.

Zakman- ur insane Wilder is tall but a 'small heavy'- he kid needs to develop physically and fill out let alone hone his boxing skills. Yes he attained a Bronze, however w/ a miniscule amatuer pedigree. This has nothing to do w/ a weak chin, and his chin has yet to be tested.

I've had doubts about his Mandible for awhile and the fact that his management is still matching him with feather-fisted bums this far into his career tells me that they have doubts about it, as well. They know that Chin is Grade AAA china and if he ever steps up to a halfway legitimate fighter, which is doubtful, that it will be exposed brutally.

Yup. The signs are obvious. Three years into a pro career and STILL fighting stiffs, one of whom nearly had this guy out of there. A guy with a 25 percent KO rate, no less.

Wilder's chin isn't just chin. Like you say, it's Grade AAA china - and his handlers KNOW it!
