After Nuumbembe got a gift decision against Ando I predicted here on ESB he would lose in his first commonwealth title defence, & he did.

Watson looks a promising enough fighter though, but I was so wrapped up in the Hatton fight I forgot to talk about this matchup. My mind was firmly elewhere.

definitely a threat at domestic level.

amir's knockdown against him doesn't seem so bad now.

If Ali got a gift decision then Watson surely got a big break with Nuumbembe's cut. Admittedly Ali boxed poorly but I can imagine the blood pouring into his eye didn't help.

Maloney won't allow a rematch to take place. He got the result he wanted and will now move Watson on.

Shame about that cut.Numembe was bleeding like a stuck pig.And to think his Witters chief sparring partner!
